Autobiography

Corey Krystyniak has operations, management, lean, six sigma, and procurement experience in the manufacturing and healthcare sectors. He holds a BA in Business Administration from Saginaw Valley State University. He launched his career as a Production Supervisor at Delphi Saginaw Steering Systems. There he was exposed to lean manufacturing motivating him to earn a MS in Manufacturing Operations from Kettering University in 2003. He earned attention from Delphi Purchasing and was subsequently promoted and relocated to Delphi World Headquarters in Troy, Michigan

As a Senior Buyer, Corey applied his experiences from the plant floor to negotiate away price increases for direct materials and identify suppliers for development.

Late in 2006 Corey was recruited away by BOS Automotive Systems to be there North American Metals Commodity Manger. In addition to being responsible for sourcing decisions, he developed a green field supplier in China.

To round out his procurement skill set, and to break new ground in the healthcare sector, Corey joined Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan Procurement in 2008. As a Procurement Administrator, he sources a multitude of diverse, indirect services. In addition to being a peer leader, he is considered to be a procurement and lean subject matter expert. Corey is currently completing requirement for his Six Sigma Black Belt.

Outside of work, Corey enjoys spending time with his wife and two toddler sons. As family commitments allow, he enjoys consulting, cooking, gardening, and aviation.
