If your organization is small, chances are something like this is playing out. And that may be ok, purchasing is alot of common sense.
But consider.......is your organization getting the best value? I would suggest that your organization is leaving money on the table. Here are some reasons why:
- Not much time is spent quoting,shopping, or market testing because hat is not the employee's primary responsibility.
- The entire spend isn't taken into account and leveraged.
- Quoted pricing are accepted without negotiation.
- Employees are not cross-trained to perform the purchasing function.
- and the list goes on........
